Join the Sedro-Woolley Lions Club: Where Community Meets Compassion

Become a Lion and Make a Difference!

The Sedro-Woolley Lions Club has been a cornerstone of community service and pride for decades. Our mission is simple yet profound: to give back to our community through volunteering and impactful projects. We are an independent, non-sectarian, non-political, and non-profit organization, proud to be part of Lions Clubs International.

Why Join Us?

  • Community Impact: Our members actively contribute to the well-being of Sedro-Woolley through various initiatives, ensuring that where there is a need, there is a Lion ready to help.

  • Rich History: Established traditions such as the Loggerodeo Grand Parade and the historic Log Drive, which dates back to 1940, are a testament to our deep roots and commitment to preserving our heritage.

  • Service Opportunities: We volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Skagit County Parks and Recreation, Food Banks, and more. We also assist community members in need with glasses and hearing aids and provide scholarships to local high school seniors.

Signature Events and Programs:

  • Loggerodeo Grand Parade: A beloved tradition that brings together old-timers and newcomers alike, celebrating our rich history and vibrant community spirit. The parade is a highlight of the year, drawing up to 10,000 visitors. The Lions have presented this event for over 75 years!

  • Log Drive: A thrilling event where participants guess the time it takes for a log to float down the Skagit River, with proceeds benefiting local charities.

  • Bags to Benches: An innovative recycling program that has transformed over 1,000 pounds of plastic bags into beautiful benches along the Cascade Trail, promoting sustainability and community pride.

Annual Highlights:

  • 4th of July Celebrations: For over 75 years the Lions have brought patriotic spirit to the 4th oof July with the Loggerodeo Grand Parade, our Fourth of July festivities are a nostalgic nod to the past and a joyous celebration of our present.

  • Corn Feed: Held every third Monday in September, this event is a delightful gathering for all community members.

  • Vision and Health Initiatives: Inspired by Helen Keller’s challenge, we conduct school vision screenings, diabetes education, and provide support to those with vision impairments.

  • Scholarships: The club has several scholarships that are awarded yearly to graduating high school students to help them further their education.

How You Can Help:

  • JOIN OUR PRIDE! We are always looking for new members and would be happy to host you at one of our meetings. We currently meet the first and third Monday at 6:30 pm for fun, dinner, and the business of the club.

  • Donate Used Eyeglasses: Drop off your old eyeglasses at various locations around town to support our vision initiatives.

  • Support Our May Fundraiser: Look for us in our yellow vests at the Food Pavilion, where your donations will help provide hearing aids and vision exams for those in need.
